Argentine Tango Workshop: "Smooth Tango", Saturday 16th July 2011, 1pm - 4pm

Introduction

This is a 3-hour workshop, introducing you to the rich, exciting and intimate dance style of Argentine Tango. It will show you how to dance Tango, with some technique and tips to help you dance smoothly and stylishly.

This workshop is improver-level, and is best suited for those who have had a little experience of Tango.

The workshop will be divided into three sections - each section will allow 10-15 minutes at the end for questions and practice. Take a break, ask our teachers for a dance or ask questions (although probably not both at the same time!).

Section 1: Core technique revision (1pm - 2pm)

Section 2: Sweeps and sandwiches (2pm - 3pm)

  • Tomadas
  • Sandwiches

Section 3: Displacement and free leg movement (3pm - 4pm)

  • Sacadas
  • Boleos
